MARINE MEALS AND FERTILIZERS

Fish Bone Meal 6-13-0: Derived from bones of wild caught Pacific white fish species originally harvested and processed for human consumption. The meal is 100% natural organic fertilizer – contains no additives for processing or preservation and is organically listed.

As a soil nutrient it is a source of water insoluble, slow-release nitrogen, available phosphate, calcium plus micro nutrients essential for establishing fertile soils.

Soil Remediation: Fish bone meal contains calcium phosphate. When the meal is mixed with moist soil, the breakdown enables calcium phosphate to migrate in the soil. When the material comes into contact with lead particles, the calcium phosphate chemically bonds with lead particles resulting in a crystalline mineral known as pyromorphite. This mineral formation does not harm people, plants or animals even when it is consumed.

The long-term stability of the pyromorphite is demonstrated across several scientific fields including geology, soil cheimstry an chemical engineering Additionally, there is a 15-year track record of the fish bone meal method being successfully used to reduce toxic lead levels at firing ranges an acid mine sites. Both In-situ and laboratory tests are also showing phosphates can immobilize other potentially toxic metals including copper, zinc, cadmium and uranium.

Storage: Store in a cool dry place in original packaging.

Stability: 36 months when appropriately stored.

Packaging: Super Sacks 1,500 2,000 lbs.

Product Certification: It may be used in certified organic production or food processing and handling according to the USDA National Organic Program regulations.

Kelp Meal: Laminaria species

Preserving ocean ecosystems of wild seaweed is essential as warming ocean temperatures rise. Kelp meal has been cultivated in open ocean farms for over 15 years. By cultivating line grown seaweed, the natural coastal habitats of wild kelp forests are under less threat.  As a soil additive kelp meal contributes to strengthening various fruits, vegetables and cereal crops. As an animal supplement it ties in with sustainably managed animal health and performance while improving feed conversion. Harvested from open ocean, line-grown kelp farms. Kelp meal is a soil builder delivering vitamins, enzymes and 60 trace elements to crop soil.

Pecan Shell Biochar:  Transforming crop waste remains a significant resource to be tapped and converted. Biochar production not only solves the issue of converting crop residues into a soil amendment, by serving as an adsorbent to remove bacteria, organic matter and heavy metals from wastewater.

The Pecan nut tree produces plentiful biomass during cultivation and management. After harvesting nuts, the shells are processed using pyrolysis to create biochar.

Biochar can be added to compost where it acts as a sponge, absorbing excess moisture and nutrients. This helps maintain the optimal moisture balance within the compost pile but also minimizes potential leachate and unpleasant odors that can arise during decomposition.

In sandy clay soil treated with biochar, it enhances the soil’s structure and has the potential to increase its ability to retain water, particularly during dry spells. Biochar also indirectly influences soil and plant nutrient status by improving nutrient retention an decreasing leaching and gaseous losses.

Storage: Biochar should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Perlite and Vermiculite:  Perlite and vermiculite are pH neutral and commonly used together to create a balanced growing medium that provides good aeration, drainage, and water retention. Their benefits make them valuable components in soil amendments.

Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass with a high water content. When used in agriculture, it provides aeration and optimum moisture retention. Available in standard particle sizes or can be sized to customer specifications.

Vermiculite is a hydrous phyllosilicate mineral valued for being inert, with the ability to withstand high temperatures and its water holding capacity.  Exfoliated vermiculite’s cation exchange capacity enables it to be used to control heavy metal emission in solid waste and water chemical processes.

Tea Leaf Compost:  A Food Waste Turned into Useful Product.

Taking materials that would be otherwise discarded and turning them into something useful is an example of sustainability and is extremely important given the enormous amount of plant and food waste. By converting tea leaves with Bacillus into a volume-based compost, all the energy and water it took to grow, harvest, transport and package it, is returned as a converted waste product along with nutrients that left the soil with the crop. Good fertility value for manufactured soils and mushroom cultivation.
